Count De Money - Wired Up

Watched Enter The Void earlier, had to find some of the electronic music that was in it. I think this plays in one of the scenes in Sex, Money, Power but I'm not sure. This song makes me want to not sleep.

Lower Dens - Batman

Lower Dens bang out a version of Batman in Different Fur Studios that, at least in my opinion, is better than the original.

Two Bicycles - I'm Not Afraid To Wait For You

Looking at the weather radar it seems that most of Ohio is covered in rain showers, so I thought I'd post a song to go with today's mood. Two Bicycles is the side project of Canadian synth fiend Teen Daze. But this time around he drops the synths and picks up a guitar to create some ambient folk with great instrumentation. This track and Alone At Sea are available for free as a single to the upcoming album The Ocean on bandcamp.

Cut Copy - Corner Of The Sky

While I wasn't hugely impressed with Cut Copy's new album Zonoscope, I cannot deny the groove on this track.

Forest Swords - If Your Girl

Forest Swords is the side project of Matthew Barnes that has found quite a niche. Repetitive background drones and hazy vocals fuse with a solitary guitar, or in the case of this song the bass line, and resonant drums to make a category of music I believe they can call their own. Listening to Forest Swords makes me feel like I'm watching old worn out Super8 film at a drive in theater with a layer of fog rolling in.

Civil Civic - Run Overdrive / Fuck Youth

Civil Civic is two dudes, one from London and one from Barcelona. When they come together they create a balls to the wall mash of rock and electronica. The result is nothing less than spectacular, and will blast you with a heavy dose of distorted goodness. Sometimes you just gotta rock out to a fuzzy and heavily saturated wall of sound.

Working for a Nuclear Free City : Jojo Burger Tempest

WfaNFC's album Businessmen and Ghosts stands as one of my all time favorites, so I was kind of surprised that I missed this release last year.

Like their last album, Jojo Burger Tempest is stylistically all over the board. It will range from electronica to shoegaze to acoustic to rock, all right after each other. This 2 cd album has well over 88 minutes of music, with the 2nd cd consisting of the sprawling 33 minute title track. If you don't mind abrupt changes in genre when you're listening to a cd I can guarantee this will be an interesting ride. Plus Low is a masterpiece of an indie pop song.
