CFCF's music is incredibly hard for me to put into any sort of specific genre. If I had to describe it I would say it sounds like a club DJ from the 80's traveled through time into the present day and decided to write a soundtrack for the weather channel with synth heavy sexual undertones after hearing a Daft Punk song for the first time.

But his newest 6 song EP The River, which is released tomorrow, strays from that description. The songs on it sound more tribal and resonant than his previous work. The title track has a very doomsday gloom to it but also the intensity of an m83 song. Its a pretty unique sound.
