Whenever I would read about newer artists there were always a few that always came up: Toro Y Moi, Neon Indian, Washed Out etc. There were two however that I had heard about but not experienced, Millionyoung and Wild Nothing. I'll talk about the latter in the next post.
Hardly relying on samples as opposed to many chillwavers, Florida's Mike Diaz evokes most of the emotions though his vocals and simple electro-pop synth riffs. It kind of feels like dance music for one person. You can download the new 5 song EP Sunndreamm for free from his site. He also has another 5 song EP So Be True. Both are highly recommended.
